Tetris Worlds reimagines the legendary block-stacking formula with modern features, diverse gameplay variations, and a light science-fiction storyline. Originally released for Microsoft Windows and Game Boy Advance, the game preserves the addictive mechanics of classic Tetris while expanding the experience with creative worlds and unique challenges.
Master the Falling Blocks
Players must rotate and arrange falling Tetraminoes to complete horizontal lines and prevent the board from reaching the top. The gameplay starts simple but gradually becomes more challenging as the falling speed increases. Quick reactions, smart planning, and careful positioning are essential for achieving high scores and surviving longer matches.
Game Modes
- Story Mode: Story Mode introduces a narrative adventure where players help rescue the Minos from a collapsing world threatened by a supernova. Across six unique worlds, players complete different Tetris-based challenges while unlocking new stages and saving citizens along the journey.
- Classic Tetris: This traditional mode stays faithful to the original gameplay. Players clear lines continuously while trying to survive as long as possible before the stack reaches the top.
- Square Tetris: Instead of focusing only on line clears, players create 4×4 squares using Tetraminoes to earn large bonus points. This mode rewards creativity and strategic placement.
- Cascade Tetris: When lines are cleared, floating blocks above fall into empty spaces, potentially triggering chain reactions and additional line clears for huge combos.
- Sticky Tetris: Blocks of the same color stick together. Creating large connected groups triggers “Critical Mass” explosions that remove sections from the board, adding a strategic puzzle element.
- Hot-Line Tetris: Only lines cleared on specific highlighted rows award points, forcing players to target important areas carefully instead of clearing randomly.
- Fusion Tetris: Players connect Atom Blocks to a Fusion Block located at the bottom of the playfield. This mode combines traditional Tetris mechanics with puzzle-solving strategy and chain reactions.
